Why Real Talk?

Real Talk-Confidential Open Forum Group Discussion-Young Brothers Ages 14-19In today’s world young men face a diversity of personal, emotional, social and academic pressures. The pressures result in issues such as self-esteem, relationships, sex, sexual identity, drugs and, peer pressure to name a few. The reality is that the transition from boyhood to manhood is not easy. As our young brothers seek to develop their identity, the layers of issues, challenges, pain and frustration often times lead to creation of masks to disguise or conceal their feelings. According to Proverbs 11:14 “Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counsel there is safety”. This denotes the importance of creating a safe and confidential forum/outlet for our young brothers to discuss their challenges and receive Godly counsel and encouragement. Real Talk creates the environment necessary to uncover some of the issues facing our young brothers and provide a biblical response/solution for those challenges.
